The Resistance: Rise from treason
22/02/13 || Ironpants
Singer Marco Aro and his mighty men have released their EP and is stating to the world that they are ready for action. I have always liked his voice, and I think he is a great aggressive singer. I saw these guys live early 2012 and have been waiting for some recorded stuff to follow up on their power driven energetic aggressive live performance.
The EP contains 4 songs of angry hatedriven death metal, something like a later era Entombed on steroids with a few flirts thrown at Slayer and actually early The Haunted.
As I said, I thought that they kicked ass live, but on a recording
it looses some attraction for me, it´s quite generic modern Swedish
death metal. Nothing wrong with that, but I want something more than
this. Maybe my expectations was set to high?
Ok, it´s their first EP, and I read an interview where they state that
they actually are not really done with their sound and what they want to
accomplish?
Maybe a coming full length album could make me rock out with my cock out, this does not really get me up there banging my head in a frenzy. Still a good punch in the stomach area and worth the buy.
7,5/10 stagedives where the 0,5 is from a dislocated shoulder.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
